First Vice President
Joanne Young is a longtime resident of Washington, D.C., a practicing lawyer, and an active Republican. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Wesleyan University and works as Managing Partner at Kirstein & Young PLLC, her break-out firm renowned for its success. She represents clients on commercial, regulatory, antitrust, election law, and litigation matters, with a focus on the aviation, shipping and defense industries. She has taken many leadership roles throughout her career; Ms. Young has been elected President of the Washington Foreign Law Society, the Women's Bar Association, the International Aviation Club, and the International Aviation Women's Association, and as Chair of the Regional Airline Association Associate Member Group. She founded Executive Women in Aviation and served on the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan University, the Women's Bar Foundation, the ABA Air & Space Law Forum and the D.C. Bar Law Practice Steering Committee. In 2013, Ms. Young was named Attorney of the Year by the Boy Scouts of America National Capital Area Council, and in 2015 she was named a ‘Star of the Bar’ by the Women's Bar Association. Most recently, however, she was honored as Republican Lawyer of the Year by the Republican National Lawyer’s Association (RNLA). To supplement her career as an attorney, Ms. Young has also been heavily engaged in local and national politics. She has played a role in the campaigns of several Republican Party candidates including Bush/Cheney, Romney/Ryan, and Trump/Pence.
